About Us

Habitat for Humanity is a student-led, non-profit organization at Ferris State University that works as a team to give back to the community by promoting and participating in the construction of homes. We provide volunteer opportunities that place students directly in the community.

The Ferris State University Habitat for Humanity Student Chapter has four goals:

Educating the campus and local community about affordable housing issues

Building and remodeling houses in partnership with local Habitat for Humanity affiliates

Raising funds for Habitat for Humanity International

Providing volunteer service to all members of the Ferris student body

Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 125,000 houses for families in need, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty.

Through the work of Habitat, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of  affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem: decent housing for all. Today, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 125,000 homes, sheltering more than 625,000 people in some 3,000 communities worldwide.
