Events
▪ Work Days: Ferris State’s Chapter of Habitat for Humanity works with Mecosta County and surrounding counties to help local families in need by constructing and repairing their homes.
▪ Box City: A yearly event that takes place in October to help raise awareness about homelessness. Students spend a week in boxes out in the quad and collect donations to give to Habitat International.
▪ Collegiate Challenge: An alternative spring break program that provides opportunities for college students to spend their spring break building and reconstructing houses. In the past years FSU has gone to Erie, PA, Rochelle, NY, and Columbus, GA.
▪ Act! Speak! Build! Week!:A worldwide week of student advocacy. Student groups partner with local Habitat affiliates to plan and host events ranging from speakers, panels, letter-writing campaigns and meetings with elected officials, all of which focuses on education about subsidized housing.
